要开始使用，您需要制作一个盖革计数器（Geiger Counter）并搜索一个RTG颗粒（RTG Pellet）来为您的系统供电。一旦您认为您已经接近，就在该地区周围挖掘泥土/沙土，希望您能找到一个颗粒。使用这个颗粒来制作一个控制器（Controller）。
没有其他所需组件的控制器将无法工作；还需要一个驱动器托架（Drive Bay）和一个内存托架（Memory Bay）。一个终端（Terminal）通常也被认为是有用的。
一旦您将所有三个组件组成一个系统，控制器将亮起。您需要制作驱动器（Drives）和内存（Memory）并放入托架中才能实现实际存储。将它们插入托架，通过终端插入/移除物品，尽情使用。
