新维度可以通过传送门访问，前往寒冷地狱的传送门应该建造得像下界传送门，但是用冰冻的青金石块代替黑曜石，青金石块由4块冰冻的青金石合成，冰冻的青金石通常可以在特殊生物群系的普通世界洞穴中找到。传送门可以使用不寻常的冰冻青金石金粒激活。

模组中的所有物品/方块都会生成在寒冷地狱中，但其中一些可以使用紧凑冰或通过与村民交易获得。

这个维度非常黑暗，所以记得带上火把或夜视药水来看清楚，但是如果你想挑战自己，可以尝试在没有物品的情况下生存在这个维度！

寒冷地狱中最常见的方块是冰石和冰花岗岩。冰花岗岩是土壤的类比物，是温暖峡谷中的主要方块。冰石掉落普通石头，只会在寒冷峡谷或冻结的普通世界洞穴中生成。维度中最常见的液体是液态氮，它每秒造成2个心脏的伤害。

矮松树 - 新的树种，你可以通过熔化冻结的松树树苗来获取，这些树苗从雪灌木的冻结树叶上掉落，雪灌木在温暖的峡谷中偶尔生成，只能在冻结的草地上生长。

在这个维度中不会生成生物，所以唯一的食物来源是蓝莓，它们在温暖的峡谷中稀有生成。蓝莓有4个生长阶段（但如果你在1.2更新之前玩过，只有2个阶段）。你可以使用骨粉来加速蓝莓的生长，它们也只能在冻结的草地上生长。

矿石只在寒冷峡谷生物群系中生成，那里会生成冻结铁、钻石、青金石，但冻结的青金石也会在普通世界的冻结洞穴中生成。寒冷地狱中煤炭最稀有，它只在这个维度中非常稀有的熔岩湖中生成。

这个模组中有许多建筑，比如废弃房屋。小型冻结房屋由雪灌木材料制成，在寒冷峡谷中生成。小松树房子是小型冻结房屋的更现代化版本，在温暖的峡谷中生成。从1.4.2版本开始，井被添加进来，它们在温暖的峡谷中生成，拥有这个模组中最稀有的方块 - 冰之碎片块。
